The ruins of St Andrews Church lie above the bay of Church Ope on Portland. A church was originally built here in 1100 on an old Saxon site. Several rebuilds ensued due to fires and landslips until the site was eventually abandoned as a church in the mid eighteenth century.
This started as a plein air sketch but evolved into a far more detailed drawing as I couldn't resist the beautiful textures and shadows.
